Well, the time has come to head towards Canada. Too bad we are only allowed six months here in the US, there is so much to see. We packed up and left the comfort and warmth of Arizona this morning and began our travels north.
We have decided to head straight up the 15 as we intend to hit Calgary Alberta to see our daughter and her husband. The drive up the 95 to Las Vegas was fine, boring as there is nothing but roads that go on for miles and miles but there are mountains and beautiful scenery to take in. Going through Vegas was like going through Toronto, busy and a bunch of nut cases on the highway.
We got through it and got on the 15, which we will stay on now until Canada. Going through the start of Utah was incredible. We drove through a huge cut in a massive mountain for miles. Then, as we climbed the mountain the rain began and never stopped. We got near Zion and couldn’t see a thing. Colleen started calling nearby rv spots but all could not accommodate as the rains were swelling the sites and the ones that weren’t were booked.
We are now safely tucked into a Best Western Plus (which actually has rv sites) for the night. We are surrounded by majestic snow capped mountains which reminds me of being in Banff Alberta. Will be back on the road in the morning on our way to the next stop, Salt Lake City.
That’s it for now, have fun…Kevin
